Eid resembles joy and happiness for all. In a society, not everyone is fortunate enough to celebrate Eid as they should. UNYSAB believes that happiness is everyone’s right. And this happiness should be spread among people as much as one can. With a view to spread happiness and peace, UNYSAB celebrates ‘Eid for Street Children’ every year.
As a way of giving back to the community and making a difference in other peoples’ lives, United Nations Youth and Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) started “Eid for street children” program in 2010 and has successfully run the same every year over the past decade. Over the years, children would come to this event and have iftar with the volunteers and receive Eid gifts as well. But due to Covid-19, UNYSAB sent money to the deprived families through E-Cash so that they can buy whatever they need to sustain the pandemic in 2020.
During the first 3 years of this program, it was observed in Sylhet and Khulna regional wings alongside Dhaka. But from 2014 this event is arranged in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Kurigram, Khulna, Sylhet by UNYSAB as well. Through this event, UNYSAB aims to share smiles on the faces of underprivileged children by arranging IFTAR, new clothes, toys, and much more for them. Spreading love, empathy and happiness among others can bring peace to this world.
