Nafia Islam Faria joined UNYSAB in 2019 as a member of the 12th batch and currently serving as an Assistant Secretary, Communication. UNYSAB is the first non-profit organization she has worked with, and it has dramatically helped to grow her soft skills and networking across a broad spectrum.
She believes to build an all-inclusive and violence-free society, where we could all work hand-in-hand without discrimination and exploitation. She dreams of the formation of an education system where practical knowledge will be acknowledged more than ‘text-book’ grades.
She is a student of the Department of Economics at Bangladesh University of Professionals. She is affiliated with the Bangladesh University of Professionals Research Society as the Secretary of Communications. She had collaborated with the Psycure Organization, which deals with mental health problems’ visibility in our community. This year she will continue her career as an Invigilator at the British Council Bangladesh.
Her passion has always been in poverty, inequality, education, environment, development, gender based violence, and many more. She has been into other clubs and organizations but her turning point in life up until now was joining UNYSAB. It taught her a lot of soft and outdoor skills which she has managed to put to good use in practical life as well as her academics as she is currently majoring in Economics and UNYSAB works in the field of development many of the time.
