Workshops

UNYSAB held its first workshop on Shadow Youth Parliament on 24th August at the BSK Auditorium,Second workshop on 21th October at East West University, and third workshop at Mohammadpur Govt. School, to be jointly organize by Center for Men and Masculinities Studies (CMMS) and United Nations Youth and Student Association Bangladesh (UNYSAB), with the support of Action Aid Bangladesh (AAB). Through this orientation workshop participants get ideas about the issues which they raise before the upcoming Youth Parliament, which follow the session procedure of National Parliament of Bangladesh. Purpose of this workshop is to make the youth understand the procedure of the National Parliament.

Events

United Nations Youth & Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) & Centre for Men & Masculinities Studies (CMMS) jointly organized Shadow Youth Parliament supported by ActionAid Bangladesh on 7 November 2019 at the IDB Bhaban Auditorium, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
Hundreds of youth comes from all corners of the country to participate at this event where they discuss about the problems along with the possible solutions in their constituency and promote youth agenda for the achievements of SDG 2030. The youths divide into two groups. The division done on the basis of the writings of them where they showed their current problems in the constituency area to the whole model parliamentary meeting and propose the solutions to the problems as well. The ones with best fifty writings are invited as delegates and other 250 participants are invited as observers to learn and enjoy the event.
In the first half of this session, the panel talk about various issues from our history to current emergence. They motivate the youth with their words, inspired them to work for good governance and diplomacy and also advise them for their future. The shadow parliament discuss many large scale to small scale problems of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The first session gets started by getting the delegates into two groups. One group act as the government and the other as the opposition party. Both parties debate fiercely on recent issues such as widespread of dengue, problems of water and other necessities in the constituency area, preventive measures and so on. The best delegates get awards in the award ceremony and all of the participants are provided with certificates for their enthusiasm to make this program a success.
